Google Chrome
The Chrome app has a lot of icons and its appearance changes when there is an update. Here we are going to list 25 popular symbols and icons. Although the icons are from Chrome, you can find similar icons in Edge with little or no variation because both browsers use the same Chromium source code.
1. Home-Symbol
It’s a home button that appears to the left of the address bar. A click on this home icon symbol opens the start page set in the settings area. Remember, this homepage is different from the homepage or the new tab. You can set up a custom URL as your homepage and access it quickly from this button. In Chrome, you can also enable or disable the home button from the settings page.
Update symbol
This is a recovery icon that is used in many apps, but has a different purpose and meaning in browsers. The refresh icon, as the name suggests, is used to update or reload the currently displayed web page. You can use Ctrl + R on Windows and Command + R on Mac to reload the page. Alternatively, use the F5 key in Windows to refresh the page in Chrome.
3. Bookmark icon
The blank star icon that appears at the right end of the address bar is a bookmark icon. You can click this icon and add the webpage you are currently viewing to your bookmarks or reading list. After you bookmark the page, you’ll see that the blank star has now changed to a filled star icon to indicate that the page is already bookmarked and visit our Software Development Company in Los Angeles
Note: In Microsoft Edge, the icon appears with an empty star with a +. You can click on it to add the page to your favorites.
4. Expansion icon
Chrome uses the puzzle piece icon to show the extensions. It is a symbolic representation of extensions that match the browser app. This symbol can be found on the right outside the address bar. When you click on it, all the installed extensions will be displayed in the browser.
5. Three vertical points
This symbol with three vertical dots appears in the upper right corner of the browser. When you hover over it, the text “Customize and control Google Chrome” appears, and you can click it to open a list of menu items in the app. Since the Chrome app in Windows does not have a top menu bar, you can press the “Alt + F” keys to expand the menu items from this icon with three vertical dots.
6. + Symbol
The plus symbol is the most common meaning for adding an item. This appears next to the currently active one and means to open a new tab. Remember that the new tab page is different from the home page and the home page, and you can customize the new tab page as you wish. You can find the plus icon in a circle on a new tab for adding a new shortcut.
7. X-Symbol
X is the usual meaning for closing the session. In Chrome, it will show up on every tab and clicking on it will close that tab.
